About the Author

Puja A. J. Thomson is the founder and director of  ROOTS & WINGS  in New Paltz, NY.  Following her cancer diagnosis in 2003, Puja Thomson used her experience as a cancer patient and a health care professional (interfaith minister, professional educator, licensed massage therapist) to develop a comprehensive resource to address all the challenges that face newly diagnosed patients and their families.  AFTER SHOCK: FROM CANCER DIAGNOSIS TO HEALING – a step-by-step guide to help you navigate your way, is the award winning result.

Thomson is also director of Roots & Wings Publishing, a member of Cancer Wellness Associates, Mid-Hudson Valley Community of Solutions, New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the Healthcare Communication Project, Inc..

Before coming to the United States, Thomson worked as an educator and training specialist at the University of Edinburgh, and at other institutions in Scotland, in the fields of social work,education, community work and juvenile justice.

Puja is a member of the new Integrative Medicine Network connected to Dr. Samira Khera's new Breast Care practice in Kingston.
